Active Beecraigs Hub
This module was undertaken as part of my masters program.

We were given a brief to design a small 'hub' within Beecraigs Country Park. The client, West Lothian Council was keen for a sustainable, healthy building which would draw more people into the park. The hub also had to utilise at least one modern method of construction.

My solution was an active hub, with a bike shop and café space. To satisfy the client and brief I used mass timber for the major structural elements. The hub was also designed to be completely deconstructed or reused at the end of it's life so elements were fitted together with heavy duty screws to allow this to happen.

The submission was in the form of a short portfolio where I demonstrated how the hub would accomplish the major requirements of the brief.

(This work was done entirely remotely due to the university removing all face to face teaching due to COVID restrictions)
